Territory Manager
Location: Prairie AG - Lloydminster
The Territory Manager is a collaborative, customer-focused sales professional who works closely with Parts, Service, Administration, and Leadership teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior agricultural or construction equipment sales experience—or a strong machinery sales background—combined with a genuine passion for the agriculture and construction industries.
This role is responsible for growing market share within an assigned territory by building strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and positioning the Company as a trusted equipment and solutions partner.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory Development & Sales Growth:
- Develop and execute territory growth plans to increase market penetration, revenue, and overall sales performance.
- Identify, prioritize, and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Prospect and develop new customers through cold calling, referrals, networking, face-to-face meetings, and industry events.
- Promote and sell equipment, products, and solutions aligned with customer needs and operational goals.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitor activity, and new product offerings to effectively position company solutions in the marketplace.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular on-site visits, proactive communication, and consistent follow-up.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to farmers and contractors by understanding their operations, challenges, and long-term business objectives.
- Maintain consistent monthly contact with customers to strengthen relationships, support retention, and identify growth opportunities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring customer concerns and issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
Sales Administration & Reporting:
- Actively manage assigned accounts, sales pipeline, opportunities, and forecasts using the company's sales tools and systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, opportunity tracking, and sales forecasts.
- Prepare and submit weekly sales activity reports and performance updates against established targets and objectives.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of quotations, documentation, and sales-related administrative requirements.
Collaboration & Team Support:
- Collaborate closely with Parts, Service, Administration, and Leadership teams to support customer satisfaction and successful deal completion.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve customer issues, remove barriers, and deliver integrated equipment and service solutions.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives, territory strategies, and overall branch growth objectives.
Ownership & Accountability:
- Take full ownership of assigned accounts and territory performance.
- Demonstrate strong self-motivation, accountability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a professional image and represent the Company positively within the industry and local communities.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in business, marketing, sales, agriculture, or a related technical field is considered an asset.
- Minimum of three (3) years of machinery sales experience; agricultural or construction equipment sales experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of agriculture, farming operations, construction equipment, and industry trends.
- Proven ability to prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close sales both in person and over the phone.
- Demonstrated success in building new business while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel within the assigned territory, including regular customer and prospect visits.
- Combination of office, dealership, and field-based work environments.
- Frequent driving and extended periods spent on the road.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, agricultural operations, construction sites, and equipment yard environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move materials related to demonstrations, events, or sales activities.
