Responsibilities:
Tasks:
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
- Attach components and adjust new farm equipment.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
- Perform repair work on heavy trucks.
- Perform other routine maintenance.
Job Duties:
- Inspects combines, forage harvesters, tractors, balers and other agricultural and heavy equipment for proper performance; identifies faults and malfunctions to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
- Diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults using computerized diagnostic tools and testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
- Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components, and systems using hand and power tools, in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Tests and verifies equipment performance following service and repair to ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Cleans, lubricates, and performs preventative maintenance and routine maintenance work on agricultural and heavy equipment.
- May perform repair and maintenance work on heavy trucks as required.
- May attach components and adjust new farm equipment to ensure proper setup and operation.
